Know Who to Turn To
Support in a mental health crisis
Mental health crises can be frightening and isolating, but you are never alone. You can get urgent mental health support by calling 111 and choosing the mental health option.
You can also call the south west London Mental Health Crisis Line on 0800 028 8000, where you’ll reach compassionate professionals ready to listen and guide you to the right support. Both services are available 24/7 and open to anyone. If you are Deaf, you can call 111 or the south west London Mental Health Crisis Line using Sign Live.
Recovery Cafes
If you’re feeling overwhelmed and need a safe space to turn to, Recovery Cafes (also known as Crisis Cafes) provide a welcoming environment where you can find calm and connection away from emergency settings.
Support in the community
NHS Talking Therapies offer evidence-based treatments for common concerns like anxiety and depression, helping people regain balance and wellbeing.
Be Well Hubs delivered through South London Listens bring support into the heart of local communities. Run by community organisations across the region, these hubs offer friendly places to connect, activities to reduce isolation, and practical help with signposting. EMHIP’s Health and Wellbeing Hubs in local mosques and churches also provide informal support and wellbeing workshops to support culturally sensitive care.
Other forms of non-urgent help includes, GP support and wellbeing resources like the Every Mind Matters digital tool and Togetherall for young people.
Community services
NHS Integrated Recovery Hubs provide joined-up, holistic support from a diverse team of health professionals, peer workers, and voluntary and community sector partners. Together they deliver joined-up mental health care, closers to home, alongside a range of social and welfare services, helping patients to find more of the support they need in one place.
Support with mental health medication
For patients under the care of South West London and St George’s NHS Trust, the pharmacy teams also offers a dedicated helpline providing advice and support.
Trust patients with any questions or concerns about the medicines they are taking can call our Medicines Helpline on 020 3513 6829, Monday to Friday from 9am – 5pm, to speak to one of our pharmacists. Our MindMeds app can also help to log and keep track of medication. Patients can download it on Android or Apple.
