Infection Control Statement

In line with the Health and Social Care Act 2008: Code of Practice on the Prevention and Control of Infections (2022), this statement confirms the infection prevention and control (IPC) arrangements at our practice.

Our Commitment

We are committed to providing a clean, safe environment for our patients, staff and visitors. We have:

• A named Infection Control Lead

• An up-to-date Infection Prevention & Control Policy

• Regular cleaning schedules and environmental monitoring

• Safe systems for sharps disposal and clinical waste management

• Vaccine fridge temperature monitoring

• Legionella and water safety checks

• Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) available

Audit & Monitoring

During this reporting period we completed:

• An annual IPC audit

• Hand hygiene and cleaning audits

• Vaccine storage monitoring checks

Any minor improvements identified were addressed promptly.

Incidents

There were no significant infection control incidents or outbreaks during this reporting period.

Staff Training

All staff completed appropriate annual infection control training to ensure safe practice.

We will continue to review our procedures regularly to maintain high standards of infection prevention and control.
